ASEAN Committee On Women (ACW) - Work Life Harmony Workshop

The ACW Work Life Harmony Workshop will showcase Singapore's work life harmony initiatives and includes presentations by experts on work life harmony concepts.

A site visit to IBM Singapore, a winner of the Work Life Excellence Awards 2006, is also scheduled for delegates to see first-hand the organisation's work life strategies. (See Annex A for Workshop Programme)

The Workshop precedes the Fifth ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW) Meeting which Singapore is hosting from 2 - 3 November this year. Delegates from all 10 ASEAN countries will be participating in this Workshop, which is supported by the ASEAN Secretariat.

Mr Niam Chiang Meng, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports said, ''The Work Life Harmony workshop is aimed at generating greater awareness and understanding of the concepts of work-life harmony. It provides the platform for sharing of experiences and expertise to help decision makers and policy planners develop work-life policies and initiatives to facilitate the effective participation of women in the workforce as well as empower individuals to harmonise home, work and personal aspirations and commitments.''
