THE number of juvenile arrests has fallen
by a third over the last five years, from
2,637 in 2004 to 1,783 last year, Minister
for Community Development, Youth and
Sports Vivian Balakrishnan said in a written
reply to Ms Irene Ng (Tampines
GRC). The most common offence committed
by these young offenders, aged seven
to 15, is shop theft.
