Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports, will lead a delegation to the International Forum on Women in Urban Development and Commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Shanghai, China from 16 to 18 September 2010.
She will also be participating in the 15th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women Leaders Network (WLN) Meeting in Tokyo, Japan from 19 to 21 September 2010.
International Forum on Women in Urban Development
The Forum commemorates the 15th Anniversary of Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. It is organised by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), with support from the Shanghai Women's Federation (the local Chapter of the ACWF), in conjunction with World Expo 2010.
Mrs Yu-Foo will deliver a speech on women in urban development at the Ministerial Plenary on 17 September.
15th APEC Women Leaders Network (WLN) Meeting
The WLN Meeting is held annually in the APEC host economy and attracts over 400 women leaders from business, academia, government, and non-government organisations in the 21 APEC economies. This year's theme is “Creation of New Global Economic Activities by Women – Realization through People, Nature and Culture”. Singapore will present its report as immediate past WLN host.
