Mdm Halimah Yacob, Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports, will lead a delegation to the 4th East Asia Gender Equality Ministerial Meeting in Siem Reap, Cambodia from 17 to 18 November 2011.
The Meeting, organised by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs of Cambodia, is a gathering of leaders from 18 countries in the East Asia region responsible for women’s issues to discuss and share ideas on how women can participate and contribute more fully and effectively in society and the economy.
The theme of the Meeting is "Recovery from the Recent Global Economic Crisis” with the subthemes of “The Green Economy”, “Women in Post-Crisis Economic Recovery”, “Labour and Migration”; and “Work-Life Balance”. Mdm Halimah will deliver a speech at the Meeting.
