Singapore submits Initial Report to UN on Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict


Singapore has submitted an Initial Report on the implementation of the Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict. The report was submitted on 15 Dec 2011 to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. Singapore ratified the Optional Protocol on 11 December 2008.

The Report documents the progress made by Singapore from 2008 to 2010. It underscores Singapore’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children. The Optional Protocol comprises 13 articles to protect children from involvement in armed conflict. The Initial Report can be accessed on MCYS website at www.mcys.gov.sg.
