Written Answers
As at 30 September 2011, there are 168 juvenile offenders who are currently serving their custodial sentence. This comprises juvenile offenders who were ordered by the Juvenile Court to reside in the Singapore Boys’ Home, Singapore Girls’ Home and in Children and Young Persons Homes.
There is no discernible trend that the number of juvenile offenders seen at the Juvenile Court has increased. The number in the last five years has fluctuated, from 508 in 2006, 589 in 2007, 472 in 2008, 548 in 2009, to 406 in 2010.
